As a Father's Day treat, we went for a flight seeing trip out to the junction of the Fraser & Chilcotin Rivers, in the BC Interior. As you head west of 100 Mile House, the landscape changes quickly into rolling grasslands along the Fraser River. Seeing the mighty Fraser from above, gives you a different sense of scale of this magnificent river and its surrounding landscape.
Heading south from the junction, we stopped in for lunch at the Echo Valley Ranch & Spa Resort, west of Clinton, BC. With its own paved 3400' long airstrip, getting here is a breeze. Immediately we were welcomed by the very friendly staff and owners and enjoyed an excellent lunch with a nice mix of proteins and vegetables, many of which are grown right there at the ranch. It would have been nice to stay for a night or two, however, we had to get back after a nice visit and a good chat. I think it's safe to say though that this won't be our last visit.
